Cynthia Sax was able to take a popular storyline and twist it into something different. We've got the recluse millionaire, the innocent young woman, and some hot scenes. That limo scene? Huzzah! The difference that puts Cynthia's story above the rest are the interactions between Anna and Blaine. Anna is a virgin, but she's not totally innocent and the woman knows what she wants. When she starts to take notice of her sexuality, she actually becomes stronger. She's able to approach Blaine. She's able to stand up for her peers. And she's able to face a future that would seriously suck. Blaine is controlling, but he doesn't use it to force Anna into anything she's not ready to do. I loved that about him. Blaine and Anna really do bring out the best in each other.
In a book world where we see trilogies and series, it was refreshing to have three novellas to complete the story. There is a lot of sex, but it helped the story move along. The sex wasn't over the top in terms of kink and BDSM. Their only kink is voyeurism. And there aren't any ridiculous outside forces that keeps them apart. If you've read a lot of these types a books, then you'll know what I mean.
If you're looking for a sweet romance between two damaged characters that happen to have a lot of sex, then give this series a chance.
