As one of New York’s Finest, firefighter Cash Ryder is always prepared. When a woman’s car skids off the side of a mountain during a snowstorm, he’s there to rescue her. Cash is totally focused on the woman’s well-being, but within minutes of getting her to safety, he realizes that he’s nowhere near prepared for the heat that rolls off of sensual, smart-mouthed, and stubborn Siena Remington.

As a model, Siena Remington has dated some of the wealthiest, most handsome men in the industry, and she’s made peace with the idea that most men are just looking for eye candy and they wouldn’t know how to romance a woman to save their lives. When she’s rescued by a tall, handsome stranger, she thinks that maybe, just maybe, she’s found her own real-life romantic fairy tale—until he opens his mouth and everything that comes out is gruff, ornery, and aggravatingly sexy.

Thrown together during an annual firehouse calendar photo shoot, the passion between Cash and Siena sizzles, and neither one knows how to control the flames. After an evening of verbal sparring followed by a sinfully sensual night, their darkest secrets are revealed—and so is Cash’s warm, romantic heart. But Siena’s secret might be too much for big, strong, always-prepared Cash to handle—and Siena is forced to choose between a man who’s everything she’s ever dreamed of and an opportunity of a lifetime.

I'm not even going to say it. Yes, I found myself in the same predicament that I always am in when I have a new Melissa Foster book to read. I should start wearing a sign as warning... No Sleep. Not safe to approach.

The more Braden's and Remingon's I meet, the harder it is getting for me to pick my favorites. When I pick up a Melissa Foster book, I know that I'll be welcomed back into a world I adore and I'll get to meet two characters I know I'll love. It has happened before and it happened again with Flames of Love. At first glance, it seems like Cash Ryder and Siena Remington have nothing in common other than being on the snowy road at the same time and both having large families. Cash is a tough-as-nails fire fighter. As a model, Siena is as beautiful as they come. As first glance, you'd probably wonder how are these two characters attracted to each other. Ryder's motto is always be prepared and Siena's been know to fly by the seat of her pants. Take a longer look under the surface and these characters have so much in common. First of all, both Cash and Siena are almost jaded about their careers. Cash recently lost a person in a fire and it has been eating away at him ever since. Siena is tired of being looked at as just a beautiful woman. Secondly, both Cash and Siena are longing for love. Siena is open about wanting what her brothers have, but with Cash, he's hiding inside because of his fear of leaving someone behind. When Cash and Siena come together, their outlook on life changes drastically. When these two fall in love, they fall deeply and forever.

I adore Melissa Foster and have loved her books that I've read so far. Flames of Love broke my heart. We meet Cash when he is at his lowest point. He blames himself for being unable to rescue a man in a fire and is dealing with his guilt in two ways: spending as much time as possible with the victim's widow and by not listening to orders while at a fire. When he finally breaks and realizes that he's doing this because he has no one waiting for him to come home, I wanted to cry for him. Siena wakes him up and both of them are finally able to break down the walls surrounding them. Flames of Love is beautifully written. The tender moments between Cash and Siena were touching and heartbreaking at the same time. The sexual innuendo-filled banter freaking rocked. I don't know if it is my favorite book so far, but it is definitely up there.

"What sets Melissa Foster apart are her compelling characters who you care about... desperately. This  is psychological suspense at its most chilling. I dare you to read the first chapter and not be hooked."  International bestseller, M.J. Rose

    1. I have to ask... Will we see a Ryder series? I know there is a Bradens II coming out.

In the next book's review, I should totally share a picture of my favorites shelf on my Kindle. It is getting quite the Melissa Foster collection.
