A visit with Candis Terry, author of Something Sweeter

I am so excited to welcome one of my favorite romance authors today...Candis Terry. I had the pleasure of meeting her at the RWA Literacy signing in 2012 and let me tell you, she is just as adorable as the characters in her books. Her newest book, Something Sweeter, the third book in her Sweet, Texas series, released on June 24th. I loved it and I will be back with my review in a couple of days.

Take it away, Candis!

BEHIND THE SCENES WITH MISS GIDDY—THE FASHIONISTA GOAT FROM SWEET, TEXAS

Candis Terry here. Thank you so much for letting me stop by today and show you another level of my kookiness. Please don’t run. I’m harmless. I swear.

For all of you who’ve read even one book from my Sweet, Texas series, you are very familiar with Miss Giddy. She’s not your average farm animal. In fact, if you ask her, she’s not an animal at all and prefers to think of herself as the goddess of green grass.

When I came up with the topic for this post I ran through the gamut of Sweet, Texas characters available to get a little more in depth with. Miss Giddy seemed to have the biggest scope and the latest poop on everyone who comes and goes from The Wilder Ranch. So let’s get right down to how things are going with the brown-eyed, brown-furred cashmere goat who today happens to be wearing a fashionable ribbon in a shade of Tiffany blue. Mind you, I did have to take a class in Capra aegagrus hircus interpretation AKA goat translation.

From the pages of Miss Giddy . . .
Anyone who sets a hoof on Wilder Ranch knows there’s never a dull moment. Lucky for me, with all the hoopla going on I get to meet new friends. First there was Charli’s (Anything But Sweet) little orange poodle, Pumpkin. Then along came Abby’s (Sweetest Mistake) pup, Liberty. And now there’s Allison’s (Something Sweeter) crazy little dude named Wee Man.

All the comings and goings with the hunky (can I say that?) Wilder brothers and their love lives over the years has kept me busy. But it looks like things are finally getting down to business. And I hear through the grapevine that I actually get to be in a wedding. No joke.

This latest adventure with Jesse Wilder and Allison Lane (Something Sweeter) has been like watching a ping pong game at max speed. Those two can banter like nobody’s business. And I won’t tell you what I caught them doing out behind the barn last week, but it even made me blush! And I didn’t even know us goats could blush.

Jesse has always been accused of being a big player, but I can tell you he’s all talk. Not that he doesn’t get his fair share of women from the two-legged breed, but he’s a lot more choosy than anyone would ever know or that he’d admit. He’s had a heck of a time convincing Allison of that though. Maybe because he’s just so darned good looking that when he’s spouting his innocence, all she hears is wah-wah-wah. Does that mean she’s too busy looking at his hot body and handsome face? Well, if I walked on two legs, I sure would be.

Stay tuned, because the adventure Jesse and Allison share in Something Sweeter is one yeeha of a good time!

Signing off with a Meh-eh-ehhhhhh.

Yours truly,

Miss Giddy

The men in Texas are hard to resist . . . Seattle event planner Allison Lane is an expert at delivering the perfect wedding—even if she might not exactly believe in the whole "'til death do us part" thing. When her father decides to tie the knot with a woman he barely knows, Allison heads to Sweet, Texas, to make sure his new honey is the real deal. What she didn't expect to find at the local honky-tonk was a sexy Southern man as bent on charming her pants off as he is on blowing her "true love doesn't exist" theory all to hell. And they always promise . . .

Veterinarian, former Marine, and Sweet's favorite playboy Jesse Wilder takes one look at Allison and knows she's a handful of trouble he can't deny. But even after a sizzling kiss and obvious mutual attraction, it seems Allison has no such problem. When Jesse uncovers her sweet side, can he crush his playboy image, melt her cynical heart, and change her mind about taking a trip down the aisle?

Candis Terry was born and raised near the sunny beaches of Southern California and now makes her home on an Idaho farm. She’s experienced life in such diverse ways as working in a Hollywood recording studio to chasing down wayward steers. Only one thing has remained the same: her passion for writing stories about relationships, the push and pull in the search for love, and the security one finds in their own happily ever after.
