June 2016 Rewind

Hello out there in romance land! Welcome to my June 2016 monthly rewind where I go through the books I reviewed on my blog this month. I'm doing things a little different this time around. While these posts kick my butt into gear and remind me to add my reviews to Amazon and Goodreads, I felt they were a little stale. So I'm adding a bit more oomph to the post...

Boy, was June ever crazy. I had so much going on this month... My dad and I went to Laughlin, Nevada a couple weekends ago. Had a blast with my dad, but it zapped me. I was ambitious and had planned to have reviews all that weekend done ahead of time. And like most ambitious plans, it didn't quite happen. Ah well, I still posted 12 reviews this month... Which is almost double of what I did in May.

How was your June? Did you do anything fun to welcome the summer? Read and sizzling hot books?? Let me know in the comments below!

Without further ado... Here's my June 2016 Rewind!

Challenges: TBD

"I loved At Any Cost. I've recently found myself in a romantic suspense mood and this book hit the spot. It is heavier with the romance and I think that was one of the reasons why I loved it so much. Mandy's writing was perfect as always. I love how she puts a little bit of everything in her books. There are plenty of funny moments mixed with super steamy sexy time and just enough suspense to keep me intrigued. I will be picking up the second and third book in this series before the fifth book comes out in September."

Challenges: TBD

"After reading A.K. Layton's Dirty Boxing I have come to one important conclusion... The world of romance needs more Russian heroes, especially if they are anything like Gavril Alenin."

Challenges: TBD

"We may only be a book and a half into Katie Ruggle's Search & Rescue series, but I know for certain that I just can't get enough of it. After finishing the opening novella, I immediately wanted to jump right into the first full length book, Hold Your Breath."

Challenges: TBD

"One Lucky Hero, the first full length book in author Codi Gary's new Men In Uniform series, was a fun, flirty, and sexy book filled with characters that I can't wait to see more of."

Challenges: TBD

"If you've been wanting to pick up your first Lauren Layne book and don't quite know where to start, From This Day Forward is the perfect place to begin. Not only is it the prequel to what I'm sure will be another fabulous series, it's also what I like to call an amuse bouche - a fun little novella that gives the reader just a nibble of the author's writing style."

Challenges: TBD

"I did enjoy Lady Bridget's Diary. It did keep me up because I wanted to finish it. I just wanted more of Maya's originality that I fell in love with in her previous series. I'm a little concerned that the next book features the sister I didn't quite get along with, but since this is Maya Rodale and I want to see how she continues with the series, I'll will definitely read Chasing Lady Amelia shortly after it comes out."

Challenges: TBD

"Stirring Attraction, the second installment in Sara Jane Stone's Second Shot series, left me with some mixed feelings. While I was reading the book, I felt something different than when I finished."

Challenges: TBD

"When Chloe first came out, I did not know about the ending nor did I know that it would mostly be a retelling of the first two books from Chloe's perspective. And while I was disappointed at first that we would not be getting her whole book just yet, I commend Sarah for writing the book the way she did. In all honestly, to write it any other way would have done Chloe a great disservice."

Challenges: TBD

"Melissa seduces her readers with her wildly hot stories. We get the writing style that I've come to love with her books with scorching hot sexiness. The best of both worlds!"

Challenges: TBD

"I love that the novellas are all connected by a youth camp that each of the twelve heroes attended years prior. That connection gives the reader a bit more background information without taking up too much time in each of the novellas. It also makes the box set more cohesive and it flows better from novella to novella. If I do have the opportunity to read the remaining novellas, I will definitely pick it up again."

Challenges: TBD

"Inseverable is a must read for any new Cecy Robson fans. From Cecy's writing style to the characters, everything was well developed and soulful. It was an emotional and sexy romance that I know will haunt me for some time."

Challenges: TBD

"Happy Ever After in Christmas, the 7th and final book in Mason's Christmas, Colorado series, was nothing short of amazing. Chock full of lovable characters and beautiful scenery, this is a small town romance lover's dream."
