Confession time... I had a little bit of a whoops moment when I started reading Destination: Love. There are times when I really want to take it easy and pick up a couple novellas. I've been reading mostly full length romances for the past month or so and it was finally starting to wear me out. So thinking this anthology was comprised of 5 novellas based on the page count, I figured why not read a couple from it so I can review more than one today. I start reading and the first book was longer than I expected. Turns out the first book in the anthology is actually a full length book. Sigh... Note to self: check before reading. So, I apologize that I only have one review for you today. I will come back and review the rest of anthology at a later date.
Cruising Toward Love, which is the first story in the Destination: Love anthology, was a fun second chance romance with a beautiful tropical setting. It's not all sunshine and umbrella drinks with Zoe and Nate sharing a honeymoon suite. Attraction and the sexual tension radiate off of them. It's obvious to the reader that they are clearly not over each other, no matter how much they say differently. I adore second chance romance. Spending the time to get to know each character while waiting patiently to find out just what happened between them is my idea of fun. Did Nate have a good reason to break Zoe's heart? Why did he do it? All questions are answered when both are ready to hear the answers. The only issue I had with the story was the secondary romance. While I enjoyed Callie and Reed, I wanted their romance to be it's own novella. It didn't take anything away from this book, I just felt like they should have been explored more in their own book. Although I was in the mood for a novella, I quite enjoyed Cruising Toward Love. From the second chance romance to the mystery behind the scavenger hunt, I had quite a fun time reading this book.
