He's the love of her life...and the one man she can never have.
Amelia Kade is ready to grow up. She’s loved the same man since she was young, and it’s time to let go of her hopeless childhood crush. Especially because he isn’t just any man—he’s her father’s best friend. Her godfather. Even if he did want her (which he absolutely doesn’t) their relationship is forbidden.
Matis Moreau is ready for something new. He’s been running a kink club in Paris for the last thirty years, and it’s time to move on. The only problem is…he doesn’t have anything to move on to. He’s a lonely fifty-three-year-old man in desperate need of a life.
Then, one day his best friend’s daughter devises a plan. Amelia will find him a real partner, and in return, he’ll help her find a man worthy of her charm and beauty. But no matter how hard they try—no matter how many dates they set each other up on—no one else can measure up. They're both falling hard for the one person they definitely shouldn't touch.
And once they give in to illicit temptation, the fire between them may prove so strong it’ll burn everything to the ground…
Truth be told, I tend to have a love/hate relationship with age gap romances, especially ones with this big of a gap. I usually can't get past the idea that the mmc (or fmc if that is the case) was a full fledged adult when the fmc (or mmc) was born. But... I have learned to keep an open mind when it comes to Sara Cate because, more often than not, she will work her author magic and create an age gap romance that I will love. And that is exactly what she did with The Daddy's Girl.
In The Daddy's Girl, readers follow Amelia and Matis in their taboo-fill budding romance. Readers of Cate's previous Salacious series will have met Matis in Highest Bidder. He is the best friend of Ronan and Daisy... Amelia's parents. And if that wasn't enough, he's also Amelia's godfather. Talk about taboo!! I once said Highest Bidder was one of Cate's more taboo books. Heh, The Daddy's Girl would definitely have something to say about that.
I loved The Daddy's Girl for many reasons, but these two stand out the most. One... Sara Cate's ability to create a taboo romance that is definitely questionable and turn it into a romantic romance between two people who desperately needed each other. At its core, Matis and Amelia's romance healed wounds both have carried for years. I am amazed at her ability to do this. The second is the way Cate introduces a new kink she hasn't yet explored. In The Daddy's Girl, we finally get kinks that I actually love to read and want to read more - breeding and sharing. Can we please get more?? And I love that she does so with ease and carefully. Sara's talents are top notch. And now that I know whose romance is in the next book, I cannot freaking wait!!
