Ellie Parker is a master at building walls around her heart. In the twenty-five years she’s been alive, Dex Remington has been the only person who has always believed in her and been there for her. But four years earlier, she came to Dex seeking comfort and then disappeared like a thief in the night, leaving him a broken man.

Dex Remington is one of the top PC game developers in the United States. He’s handsome, smart, and numb. So damn numb that he’s not sure he’ll ever find a reason to feel again.

A chance encounter sparks intense desires in Ellie and Dex. Desires that make her want to run—and make him want to feel. A combination of lust and fear leads these young lovers down a dangerous path. Is it possible to cross a burned bridge, or are they destined to be apart forever?

I'm back with another Melissa Foster book. I just can't get enough of her characters. In Game of Love we meet Dex and Ellie, two characters that were destined for each other. Fate brought them together as children and fate brought them back as adults. When they need each other the most, fate will kick in. That is what I enjoyed most about this book. Melissa's previous characters were perfect for each other, but it was never really fate that brought them together. So I liked the fact that Melissa uses different ways to bring her characters together. Dex and Ellie were perfect for each other. Dex has a very caring personality. He really shines when he has someone to take care of. When they were kids, that someone was Ellie. She wants everything Dex has. He has a stable career and she doesn't. He has family that'll be there for him and she was a foster kid. It was so sad to see Dex desperately try to hold on to Ellie when her first instinct is to run. When they are together, they are sizzling. When something goes wrong (and it does), they feel like they are on opposite ends of the world and all they can do is fight for each other. Since Game of Love sort of introduces a new family, we also get a lot of new characters to fall in love with. My favorite were Regina and Mitch. If there was ever a case for friends to lovers, then these two are perfect candidates. I loved watching the two of them pushing each other's buttons. So much fun packed in one book. And the cover? Holy cow! It has been a long time since I've seen a cover that fits the story perfectly. The way the guy stares at the camera while hugging the woman is just how I imagined Dex shielding Ellie away from the world. His look says everything... Stay away from his woman! L-O-V-E-D it!

Melissa Foster never ceases to amaze me. I adore her books about the Braden family and I can't wait to continue with the Remingtons.
