Brought to His Knees is such an eclectic collection of erotic novellas, there is bound to be something for everyone. Of the eleven authors that participated in this box set, all but one of them were new to me authors. That is what I appreciate the most about box sets... As a reader, you get to experience the writing styles from a group of authors for a low price. What I loved about this box set was the wide variety of stories. Some were sweet, some were strictly erotic. Some were M/F and one was M/M. There was even a couple M/F/M and one M/F/M/M. Hot, right? For you today, I have my brief thoughts on each of the novellas.
Dark Wolf Enterprises by A.M. Griffin - This novella was action packed! I enjoyed it, but I felt it was a little too rushed and ended rather abruptly. The chemistry between the hero and heroine was sizzling. I thought it was a good novella to start with if a reader wanted to try a bit of paranormal romance.
Building Bridges by Amy Ruttan - This was an adorable novella. The time they spent in the storm shelter? WOW! I loved the easy going chemisty between Liam and Molly. And how Liam pushed Molly to achieve her dreams? Swoon...
Three Strikes by Anya Richards - Honestly, I did not read this novella because M/M romance just isn't my cup of tea. I may read it in the future and if I do, I will share my thoughts on it. For now, I decided to skip it rather than risk the chance of not liking it because it isn't for me.
A Cowboy's Seduction by Cynthia D'Alba - I loved this one! This is an example of a novella that I loved reading, but I wished it was longer so I could keep reading. Another very sweet story.
Born To Sin by Danica Avet - Friends to lovers!! Woot woot! Funny story, I knew there was an age different between the hero and the heroine, but if never dawned on me just how many years it was. My jaw dropped when I realized it. Ha! I loved that they were both secretly attracted to each other, but they were afraid to act on it. Sweet and very sexy!
The Sound Of Your Name by Felice Fox - I was very torn about this one. I loved the idea behind it, but I thought it would have worked better as either a short story or a full length book. As a novella, I thought the relationship moved way too fast. How can two people fall in love without ever talking to each other? I liked the story, but I would have loved it as a full length book.
Beneath The Pages Jennifer Kacey - This one was a tease. I kept waiting and waiting for the M/F/M/M action to happen (if you catch my drift), but it never did. I still really enjoyed the story, but I wanted more. It was another novella that I thought would have worked better as a full length book.
Cruising For Love by Lynne Silver - This one was definitely the sweetest of all the novellas. I loved that the heroine's friend went to such great lengths to make her happy. Matchmaking at its finest. Super sweet second chance romance!
Whipped by Sabrina York - I loved the sexy chemistry between the Cody and Tina Marie. Plus it is a best friend's little sister and that is one of my favorite themes in romance. Loved it!
Chief Sin by Sayde Grace - Another story I wished was longer. I loved the distant chemistry between the couple. It was there, simmering under all of the anger and resentment they felt towards each other. It didn't take long for them to give in to their feelings. Yum!
Make Me Surrender by Tina Donahue - Now this is what I'm talking about. Yes please, may I have some more? It is sexy and hot, with a little bit of sweet. Loved it.
So, those are my throughts about each of the eleven novellas. I will be back on the 22nd with a guest post from the authors. See you then!!
Very nice Crystal! You did good. I can't wait to get my copy so I can read them all. I am familiar with almost all of these authors and they are all good.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pansy! I've heard of some of the authors, but this was my first time reading their books.
