Spring break was supposed to be a last blast of fun for three friends before the reality of adulthood set in. But for the trio’s science whiz, it’s an education in instant attraction…

Chemistry major Felicity Stone can tell you everything about the way chemicals interact, but when it comes to social interaction, she needs schooling. Abandoned by her friends, Felicity is faced with spending spring break alone—unless she accepts a gorgeous stranger’s invitation to pose as his girlfriend at a family wedding. Not one to turn down a research opportunity, Felicity never expected it to produce such breathtaking results…

Teacher and baseball coach Lucas Tanner is fascinated by Felicity’s potent mix of spirit and scientist, not to mention her delicious curves. When Felicity asks him to return the favor by teaching her how to pick up guys, he can’t refuse—but he’s not at all happy with the idea of her using a formula for flirting on anyone but him. Can he convince her that together they have the perfect chemistry?

Before I start my review on the third novella in Shannyn Schroeder's Hot & Nerdy series, let me say that I had a lot of fun reading the three novellas. I loved the series as a whole. With that said, I have to admit that I had mixed feelings about Her Winning Formula. I loved the characters and I was able to connect with them. At times, I can be very shy and I was a little socially awkward in high school and first couple of years in college. So I had that in common with Felicity. As for a connection with Lucas, I too am terrified of flying. I thought they were cute together and they brought out each other's strengths. I just wished the novella was longer. I felt as if I didn't get as much time with them as I did with the previous two couples. In some ways, it felt as if their relationship was a little rushed and I wanted more time with them. More time to see just how jealous Lucas could get if Felicity was successful in picking up a guy. I wanted more interactions between Felicity and Lucas's family. I'm the first to admit that I'm a greedy reader. If I love the characters, which I did with Her Winning Formula, I'll want to spend more time with them. That's the feeling I had with this novella and I was hoping that we'd get an epilogue with all of the girls (and their guys) in Las Vegas.

Overall, I adored the Hot & Nerdy series. I loved all of the characters. The girls were so much fun and the guys were sexy. I loved the messages behind each of the three novellas. It is okay to be different. Be yourself. Don't conform to what society says. If you want to be a pool shark, then grab that pool cue. If you are a gamer, then take life by the mouse. If you are a chemistry genius... Yeah, that's all I got. Find your own niche and be happy. It was Layla, Charlie, and Felicity that made this series a blast to read.

Shannyn Schroeder is the author of the O’Leary series, contemporary romances centered around a large Irish-American family in Chicago and the new Hot & Nerdy series about 3 nerdy friends and their last spring break. When she’s not wrangling her three kids or writing, she watches a ton of TV and loves to bake cookies.
