Katie Rose’s Boys of Summer series returns for a delicious double-header—with the story of total opposites who are drawn to each other like moths to a flame.

Nikki Case is no fan of baseball. Her ex gambled away a fortune on the sport, and now her PR firm has tasked her with cleaning up the league’s most notorious bad boys. The New Jersey Sonics are known for wild womanizing and booze-fueled brawls, so Nikki expects the worst. Her first stop in the battle to win hearts and minds is star hitter Jake Baldwin—a legendary ladies man so smokin’ he threatens to melt her tough-girl armor.

Although his teammates prank her without mercy, Jake admires the way Nikki gives as good as she gets. She may be the queen of frost, but there’s kindling beneath those sultry curves—and he’s just the man to ignite it. But when a PR nightmare lands the Sonics in headlines across the country, Nikki is ready to walk. Only then does Jake realize how important she is to the Sonics’ success—and that winning the love of a good woman is no game.

Too Hot to Handle, the second book in Katie Rose's The Boys of Summer series, is precisely why I love sports romances. It has the hot, dedicated athlete with Jake Baldwin, a hero that is used to women throwing themselves at him, but yet he can't win the one woman that fights back. It also has the equally dedicated heroine, Nikki Case, that refuses to believe that the sexy athlete could ever settle with one woman, let alone her. Bonus points for a hilarious set of background characters (and future heroes) that pull prank after prank. If Nikki wasn't being pursued by sexy Jake, I'd have felt bad for her. I loved Too Hot to Handle. It was so much fun! My only regret, once again, was that I did not read it while watching a baseball game. Seriously, Katie Rose hit the ball out of the park (pun intended) with The Boys of Summer series. Her writing style is fabulous. She creates characters that you can't stop yourself from falling in love with. Jake was the perfect hero. Yes, he's sexy as hell (just look at that cover), but he also has the heart of gold. Falling in love so quickly shocks the hell out of him, but watching his interactions with his mom, his teammates, and even a young boy that he mentors proves that he's able to love. Then we have Nikki, a heroine whose heart has been broken. She learns to love again and have the confidence in herself to believe that someone that is not her sister can love her back. A whole lot of love going around...

I adore this series and I can't wait to see which of the boys gets the next book in the series. For her contemporary romance debut, Katie has a sure fire winner on her hands.

Award-winning historical author Katie Rose makes her contemporary debut with the Boys of Summer novels, Bring on the Heat and Too Hot to Handle, which combine Katie’s true loves: baseball and romance! When not watching baseball, Katie is at her lake house in New Jersey, hard at work on her next book.
