Welcome to Fortune’s Island, where the only rule is to follow your heart.

Love is an extravagance Darcy Williams can’t afford. She prefers the simple life, which includes waitressing at The Love Shack and avoiding temptation. But when a forbidden part of her past steps off the ferry, her safe, guarded existence is turned upside down.

Kincaid Foster has never gotten over his first love. When he sees the wild, beautiful blonde again, dancing her way around The Love Shack, the memories of Darcy’s soft skin, gentle touch, and heated kisses come rushing back. As the privileged son of a wealthy family, Kincaid was too young to stand up to his overbearing father when he and Darcy were together. Now, he’s back on the island—free of the family shackles—and the chiseled, big-time lawyer wants a second chance.

But, Darcy made a promise to keep a secret from Kincaid—a secret that is now a six-year-old girl who looks just like her daddy. If Kincaid finds out about their daughter, Darcy could lose everything. But, she can’t resist the man who stole her heart all those years ago. And it doesn’t take long before both of them realize that anything can happen on a hot summer night.

And Then Forever is an adorably sweet second chance romance between two characters that couldn't be more deserving of love. I have read one of Shirley's books before (The Sweetheart Bargain), so I somewhat knew what I was in for when I started And Then Forever. Sadly, I have yet to finish the Sweetheart Sisters, but I will go back to finish the last two books in that series while I wait for the next book in the Fortune Island series. Anyhoo, back to my thoughts on And Then Forever. Like I said, I adored this book. The characters were wonderful. Darcy is one tough lady! After the fateful confrontation with Kincaid's father, Darcy held her head high and raised a beautiful little girl. She works hard and has made a life for the both of them. Her world is turned upside down the moment Kincaid struts inside The Love Shack. Kincaid is a warmhearted and so devoted to sister. He is immediately drawn to Darcy from the moment he sees her again and it is like they were never parted. I loved watching them slowly grow closer and closer until the sweet ending.

And Then Forever had everything I look forward to in a second chance romance. Two characters with a young love that pulls them together despite the years they spent apart. I loved the characters, from the two main characters to the background characters that I hope we get to see more from in the future. I loved that we not only get Darcy and Kincaid's perspectives, we're also treated to Abby and Jillian's. I think they'll come into play in the next books in the Fortune Island series. At least, I hope Abby's story will be the third book. The one aspect of And Then Forever that I wish was expanded on was the father-daughter relationship between Kincaid and Emma. I wish we got to see more of them, both before and after Emma found out that he is her father. I would have liked to see more of their transformation. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent reading And Then Forever and I can't wait to read Jillian's story next.
