The Boys of Summer are back! In Katie Rose’s sweet, sparkling novel, the newest New Jersey Sonic falls for the woman who’s trying desperately to save his career.

Physical therapist Jessica Hart has learned her lesson: Never date professional athletes. She’s been down that road, and barely recovered after the relationship crashed and burned. Then Jessica meets Gavin King. An All-Star slugger with chiseled good looks, Gavin was traded to the Sonics because he hurt his knee sliding into second, and now his future is in her hands. Gavin’s no bad boy—but he’s tempting enough to make Jessica think twice about all her rules.

Gavin is trying to find a comfortable routine. If he wants his old life back, he must take it easy, stay out of the limelight, and keep his distance from gorgeous redheaded physical therapists. The thing is, Gavin isn’t the kind of guy to sit on his ass and let other people pull his weight. And when he sees something he wants, he can’t help but fight for it, even if it means risking everything, even if it only lasts a single moment: like one kiss from Jessica.

Holy Baseball, Batman! Katie Rose hit it out of the park again with the 3rd book in her Boys of Summer series - The Heat of the Moment. Sorry about the pun, but I just had to. It's become a tradition with my reviews for Katie's Boys of Summer. And as usual, I wish I had read it while watching a baseball game. I always think of that after I finish the book. I guess you could say that is another tradition...

I have loved each book in this series and, I've got to say, The Heat of the Moment did not disappoint. When I pick up one of Katie's books in the series, I know that I'm going to get a hot as sin baseball hero, a strong heroine, and an adorable romance between them. I loved Gavin and Jessica. Their romance felt like an innocent, young love. Gavin is the determined boyfriend. He is fighting back from a potential career-ending injury with the help of Jessica. He throws everything into his rehab while trying his hardest to win Jessica's heart at the same time. Jessica, on the other hand, doesn't know how to be loved. The one time she opened herself to the possibility of love, it gets thrown back in her face. So when Gavin makes his intentions clear, it undoubtedly befuddles her. I smiled and sighed as Gavin woo'd her. It was just so romantic and sweet. And then the moment when the sexual chemistry ignites... Yum...

I loved The Heat of the Moment and finished it in one sitting. Once again Katie's writing was fantastic. I loved the camaraderie between all of the characters, especially the pranks between teammates. I've got my fingers crossed that we'll see a spin-off with Jessica's 4 hunky brothers. Please? *grin*

Award-winning historical author Katie Rose makes her contemporary debut with the Boys of Summer novels, Bring on the Heat and Too Hot to Handle, which combine Katie’s true loves: baseball and romance! When not watching baseball, Katie is at her lake house in New Jersey, hard at work on her next book.
