July 2016 Monthly Rewind - A New Look

Hello there and welcome back to my monthly rewind!

August marks the 4th anniversary of Crystal Blogs Books and I'm so excited! With celebration comes a time of reflection and I find myself wanting to make a few changes. One of the changes is how I do my monthly rewinds. My goal is to make them flow a bit more and also talk about books that I'm looking forward to next month. All of this was inspired by my friend Ezrah and her gorgeous blog - Eye Heart Romance & YA. Check out her blog and send her some love.

Without further ado, here's my July Monthly Rewind & August New Releases!

While I didn't meet my target goal this month, I did finally read and review a book that has been on my calendar for quite some time. So yay for that! I've got my fingers crossed for a productive August.

As you can see, one change I've made for this month is that I'm not going to link my Goodreads review. One of the original goals of my blog was to discuss books rather than rate them. All of my reviews are still being moved to Goodreads and Amazon (that's one of the purposes for the monthly rewind), so if you ever want to see the rating of a book, I'll link my Goodreads profile on the right sidebar.

Here are the seven books I reviewed this month with links to the original post.

"Deceived was the 2nd book of Kate's that I've read and loved. She's quickly becoming a new go-to romantic suspense author."

"Ride 'Em was a fun, sexy, and a hell of a good time. Sucks that we have to wait until March of next year for the second book."

"As with all of my reviews on Melissa's wonderful books, I picked one word that I felt best describes Seaside Lovers. The word of the day is... Destiny. Although it can describe just about every book that Melissa has written, destiny and fate play a big role in this one."

"Emotions and the chemistry in The Talented Mr. Maxwell were definitely magnified by 10. Jealously, lust, love, anger... This book had it all."

"I just loved everything about Tuscan Heat. Everything from the characters to Anise's writing rocked. I'm so glad that this is the beginning of a new series and I hope that we don't have too much of a wait until the second book."

"I loved Dirty for Me, everything from the complex characters to the amazing sexual tension to Jackie's fun writing style. It was more than just an erotic romance with characters that go at it like bunnies."

"When I first saw Blind Spot, it was love at first sight. Ironic, I know. Secret admirers... Blindfolds... Yes, please! I will say this, though. Prepare for a rather sudden ending. You know that comical "NOOOOO!"? Yeah, that was totally me."

Another change in my monthly rewind will be a short overview of some new releases that I'm looking forward to reading in the next month. These are just some of the books I'm looking forward to. I'll take better notes for next month's post.

Gone Too Deep (Search & Rescue #3) by Katie Ruggle
Reckless in Texas (Texas Rodeo #1) by Kari Lynn Dell
Last Kiss of Summer (Destiny Bay #1) by Marina Adair
Meant to Be Mine (Guilty Pleasures #1) by Lisa Marie Perry
Hero of Mine (Men in Uniform #2) by Codi Gary

So, that's it. This is how the new layout will look. I may tweak things here and there, but they'll be little things. I have to make a date to work on images. Fun times... But until then, I'll see you next month! Happy August!
