One night. No one will know.

That was the deal. Every year, Livvy Kane and Nicholas Chandler would share one perfect night of illicit pleasure. The forbidden hours let them forget the tragedy that haunted their pasts-and the last names that made them enemies.

Until the night she didn’t show up.

Now Nicholas has an empire to run. He doesn’t have time for distractions and Livvy’s sudden reappearance in town is a major distraction. She’s the one woman he shouldn’t want…so why can’t he forget how right she feels in his bed?

Livvy didn’t come home for Nicholas, but fate seems determined to remind her of his presence–and their past. Although the passion between them might have once run hot and deep, not even love can overcome the scandal that divided their families.

Being together might be against all the rules…but being apart is impossible.

Holy cannoli... Hate to Want You took me forever to read. This had been an on-going battle since August. I would start it... Read a chapter... Then I'd put it down. Lather, rinse, repeat. It got to the point where I would read about a chapter every couple of weeks before something else snagged my attention. I don't know why it fought me so hard because this is the type of book I love. All of the angst and sexiness... I'll devour that everyday and twice on Sunday. So for it to fight me that hard was a bit unnerving.

Then this past weekend happened when nothing was snagging my attention. I had to have started three or four books to no avail. On a whim, I gave Hate to Want You another shot...

Shut the front door... I was addicted! Once I was hooked, it was on. I friggin' loved Nicholas and Livvy. Their story is a fabulous mix of angst, sex, and heartbreak. I loved their history. I love the time they spent trying to get past the heartache. I loved the moments when they let each other in and went with their true feelings. I'm so glad that I was finally able to get into the book because I ending up loving it.

While I am super excited about the 2nd book in the Forbidden Hearts series, I think I'm going to wait a bit before attempting it. Hopefully it won't battle me like Hate to Want You did. Fingers crossed!
