Review: Thrill of Love (The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor, MD #6) by Melissa Foster

"I always thought I was living the life I wanted, but from the moment I met you, I knew I was wrong. I was living the best life I could without the only person who could complete me. You'e the life I want, Aiyla. You by my side, in my bed, sharing adventures, every moment of every day." - Ty Braden

Do you believe in fate?

World-renowned mountain climber and nature photographer Ty Braden never believed in second dates, much less heart-pounding, steal-his-breath love. But that was before a trip to Saint-Luc, where he met funny, strong, and entrancingly beautiful Aiyla Bell, a ski instructor and fellow photographer whose hopes and dreams, and love of the outdoors, aligned perfectly with his—and whose kisses alone turned him inside out.

After spending five magical days and four sweet, soulful nights falling in love, Aiyla couldn’t imagine a day without Ty. But when he asked her to go with him on his next assignment, his reputation for having women at his beck and call stopped her from upending the life she’d worked so hard to create.

Months later fate steps in when a chance encounter brings Ty and Aiyla together for a five-day wilderness event held in the Colorado Mountains. Their deep, passionate connection is stronger than ever, and Ty is bound and determined not to lose her again. But when tragedy strikes and their worlds are turned upside down, their love faces the truest test of all.

Wow... That was quite an unexpected roller coaster of emotions. The joy and elation of finding your soulmate. The sorrow that follows an unexpected tragedy. The hope for a future filled with love and family. Melissa Foster's Thrill of Love encompassed all these emotions in one beautifully written book. It also hit really close to home for me in a way I didn't expect, which is probably why I was on the verge of tearing up for most of the book thinking of my aunt. While I never got to meet my aunt, I know she was as strong as Aiyla during her battle. I loved Aiyla's fierce determination. She's strong enough to climb mountains and determined enough to cross the finish line throughout the pain. All while reconnecting with a lost love. Ty... He's a Braden through and through. Lovable, loyal, and playful... Once Aiyla is back in his life he knows they are right where they are supposed to be. Together they can face any obstacle head on. Especially with the support of their friends and family.

I loved this book! It felt like I was coming back home to visit the Bradens. Fate, love, hope, sorrow... All words that describe Thrill of Love to a tee. The emotions in this book were real. The romance between Aiyla and Ty was beautiful. Nothing was perfect, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. I did want flashbacks from when they first met. I think that would have added a layer to their story, especially during the moment they parted. Melissa does a fantastic job getting their emotions from that moment through the page, but I still would have loved to experience it along with them. I know I don't have to say it, but I will read anything Melissa writes and Thrill of Love was no different. It's made me excited for all of the Braden romances still to come.

  2. Crystal great, touching review. Isn't it funny/strange how a book takes us on a personal emotional journey sometimes too?
