When love drives you crazy . . .

When sexy Joe Malone never calls after their explosive kiss, Kylie shoves him out of her mind. Until she needs a favor, and it’s a doozy. Something precious to her has been stolen and there’s only one person with unique finder-and-fixer skills that can help—Joe. It means swallowing her pride and somehow trying to avoid the temptation to throttle him—or seduce him.

the best thing to do . . .

No, Joe didn’t call after the kiss. He’s the fun time guy, not the forever guy. And Kylie, after all she’s been through, deserves a good man who will stay. But everything about Kylie makes it damned hard to focus, and though his brain knows what he has to do, his heart isn’t getting the memo.

… is enjoy the ride.

As Kylie and Joe go on the scavenger hunt of their lives, they discover surprising things about each other. Now, the best way for them to get over “that kiss” might just be to replace it with a hundred more.

I know I probably say this in most of my Jill Shalvis reviews, but I am having a lot of fun discovering her books. I still haven't started her Lucky Harbor or Animal Magnetism series. To be honest, those kind of intimidate me. I am, however, loving the heck out of Jill's Heartbreaker Bay series. This series has everything I love about contemporary romance: characters you fall in love with, writing you devour, and a small town setting that really isn't that small.

Kylie and Joe had pretty rough childhoods. Raised mainly by her grandfather, Kylie followed in his woodworking footsteps. After a tragic event that cost him his life, all she is left is a precious carved penguin that means the world to her. When it goes missing, she naturally turns to the only man that can make her see stars from a wild kiss. After being in the military, Joe has a particular set of skills. Skills he probably never thought would come in handy when searching for a penguin. Thrown together, it's only a matter of time until the chemistry between them erupts.

I adored Kylie and Joe. Watching them overcome some pretty rough events to ultimately find love with each other was heartwarming. They're both strong characters that learn how to not only let people in, but also that it is okay to depend on someone else. I loved the banter between them. And of course the sexy time was sexy and freaking cute at the same time. I loved Joe's relationship with his sister Molly. I'm hoping her book is next because I have a feeling it is going to drive Joe insane.

About That Kiss was such a heartfelt and lovable book that I couldn't put down. Jill's writing is amazing as usual. She never fails to make me laugh and swoon. I love this series to pieces and I can't wait for the next one.
