Review: Bayside Passions (Bayside Summers #2) by Melissa Foster

"I want you. Emery Andrews. The girl who downs ice cream when she's had a bad date, watches creepy movies from behind splayed fingers, and refuses to admit she's too tired to stay awake. You don't have to be anything other than yourself." - Dean Masters

When Emery Andrews’s best friend, Desiree, moves away, falls in love, and opens a an inn all in one summer, she feels her absence like a missing limb. Until she visits over the holidays and meets sinfully hot Dean Masters, who’s as easy on the eyes as he is to talk to. After returning home, what starts as a flurry of late-night flirtations quickly turns into a deep connection and unexpected friendship. Now, months later, Desiree offers Emery a job teaching yoga at the inn. Adventurous Emery jumps at the chance and heads for Wellfleet, Massachusetts, to reunite with her BFF and her new close friend, Dean.

After months of sharing their lives, and their secrets, over video chats and phone calls, Dean’s ready to move things to the next level. The fact that Emery seems oblivious to the sparks between them and has recently put her foot down about dating friends just means he’ll have to bide his time.

When Emery finds a naked man in her kitchen the first morning she’s there, Dean doesn’t hesitate to move her into his guest room. Maybe now Emery will see what’s right before her eyes–although that guy she’s got a date with might be a problem.

It feels like it has been forever and 2 days since I last reviewed a Melissa Foster book. Surprised I'm not going into withdrawals since I'm used to reading a Foster book each month. I still need to read the 2 books from the Sugar Lake series. Hopefully that'll be soon.

If you're new to my Melissa Foster reviews, let me give you a little bit of an intro. Because I have read and reviewed so many of Melissa's books, I like to pick a word or phrase that best describes how I felt about the book. I do this so I don't say the same things in each review. I adore Melissa's writing style and I always want to be besties with her characters.

For Bayside Passions, the word I picked was harmony. Now that may seem a bit odd considering how craziness tends to follow Emery as she can be quite rambunctious at times. The harmony comes from her relationship with Dean. They truly balanced each other perfectly. Emery tends to act on impulse. When someone speaks badly of her friends, Emery doesn't think twice before putting that person in their place. Dean, on the other hand, is the calm to Emery's whirlwind. When she is impulsive, he's there to talk her off the edge. When she doubts herself, he's there to show her that she's worth it. When she doubts their relationship, he won't let to rebuild the walls around her heart. They find harmony and balance within their relationship and that is what I love most about Melissa's romances. Bayside Passions was yet another Foster winner that I devoured. Loved being back in her creative world.
