The men in Nicole McLaughlin’s Man Enough series are tough Alphas devoted to serving their country and the women who love them.

National Guardsman Aiden King has been attracted to Hannah Walters for a while, but he never made a move because of her close relationship with his best friend. But when circumstances change, Aiden is surprised when his friend gives his blessing. Problem is, there’s a reason he’s still alone after all these years, and as much as he wants her, that secret keeps him from acting on his desires.

Hannah has finally decided to wait for the kind of love you read about in books and see in movies. After her failed engagement, Aiden’s unassuming support has become a touchstone for Hannah. It soon becomes apparent that he may be exactly the kind of man she’s been looking for. But the closer they become, the more he keeps her at arm’s length.

When Aiden suggests a road trip to take Hannah’s mind off her troubles, the two of them go on a journey neither one expected. She just hopes that the final destination is them together for good.

Going into Only With You, I was a little hesitant because of how much I disliked Hannah in the previous book. We did not click at all because she can come off as a spoiled brat. When I started Only With You, I didn't know if I would continue to not like her or if Hannah would eventually win me over. I gotta say, it didn't take long for me to realize how broken she is. She's not perfect, but she's trying her damnedest to make it up to her sister. I loved Hannah's transformation in this book. By the end of the book I ended up loving her quirkiness. Aiden, on the other hand, won my heart from the moment he appeared in the book. He has a tortured soul and he was finally able to speak about his past, I fell even harder for him. I loved watching his heart heal and eventually fall in love. The two of them were perfect together.

I've only read the 3rd and 4th books in this series, but I'm enjoying it. I love that each book has a bit of redemption and self-discovery in them. In Only With You, I loved Aiden and Hannah's transformation. I'm new to Nicole McLaughlin's books, but I'm enjoying her writing style. And now I'm hoping to carve out some time to pick up the first 2 books in the series.

Nicole McLaughlin wrote her first full length book (6 pages) about the birth of her baby sister, when she was eight years old. She only finished it because her mother bribed her with a Rick Astley cassette tape. Sad, but true. Now her characters are what keep her writing and her subject matter has gotten a little bit deeper and a lot more romantic. She resides in a small town outside of Kansas City with her husband and three sons. When she isn’t writing, she’s a wedding and portrait photographer, loves to cook, and watch historical dramas or documentaries. She is the author of the Man Enough novel All I Ask and the Whiskey and Wedding series.
