From the New York Times bestselling author of the Marked Men series comes an irresistible and suspenseful romance between a tough Texas Ranger and his first love–a woman in danger who insists she doesn’t need his protection.

Hill Gamble is a model lawman: cool and collected, with a confident swagger to boot. Too bad all that Texas charm hasn’t gotten him anywhere in his personal life, especially since the only girl he ever loved has always been off-limits. But then Hill is assigned to investigate her father’s mysterious death, and he’s forced back to the town–and the woman–he left behind.

When Hill left Loveless, he broke Kody Lawton’s already battered heart. And now that he’s working on her father’s case, avoiding him is impossible. She can handle Hill and her unwanted feelings–until he puts his life on the line to protect her. Suddenly, Kody realizes that Hill could be taken away from her…for good.

Have you ever come across an author that you know you'll love, but for whatever reason you haven't read yet? Then once you do, you're like "why have I waited so long???" That is my reading history with Jay Crownover. I knew it would be love at first paragraph once I finally picked up one of Jay's books and I was right. My first book was actually the first book in the Loveless, Texas series - Justified - which I have yet to review. As much as I loved that book, I fucking loved Unforgiven ten times more. Oh. My. God. First of all, it's enemies to loves. Yes please! Then there is the romance suspense element that I think continues into the next book (I can't wait to see how this plays out). And lastly, there is the emotional punch to the balls that made my heart shatter. All of this in one sexy as sin book. What more could I want? Well, I wouldn't mind a Hill Gamble of my own.

I loved the shit out of this book. The chemistry and sexual tension between Hill and Kody was out of this world. I loved watching them combust. Jay's writing was phenomenal. I was addicted from the first word. Unforgiven was an amazing addition to the Loveless, Texas series. I have a feeling that the next book is going to be a scorcher. I can't wait!
