Trixie Jericho is on a mission to start her own miniature horse business. She’s sick of being told her idea is cute and wants nothing more than to be taken seriously. When rancher and sought-after freestyle horse trainer Nick Braden offers an opportunity she can’t refuse, Trixie jumps on it. The problem is, she also wants to jump on him, but the bullheaded, big-muscled, motorcycle-riding cowboy doesn’t mix business with pleasure. Little does he know, Trixie has never backed down from a challenge, especially one she wants more than her next breath. Saddle up, big boy, because this boot-stompin’, risk-taking, Daisy Duke-wearing cowgirl isn’t afraid to play dirty.

Welcome back to another Melissa Foster review. I'm sure you're shocked. *grins* If you've been here for any length of time or have come here for any of my previous Foster reviews, then you know she is one of my absolute favorite authors. There's something wholesome, yet sexy with her books and I just devour them. From the characters to the beautiful countryside or even a busy city, everything is perfection. Since I've reviewed so many of Melissa's books, I like to break down an aspect of the book or pick a word that I think best describes it. Since Nick and Trixie are the quintessential Foster characters, I feel like it's the perfect time to dive into the wonderful world of Melissa Foster characters.

If you have never picked up a Foster book, the first thing you should know is that you could seriously play the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon game with just her characters. Every character has a connection, whether it is a friendship, relationship, parental, sibling, etc. Everyone knows just about everyone. And if they don't, they know someone who does. That means that the book you are reading isn't necessarily the first time that character has appeared. It sounds daunting, but it really isn't. It's fun to reconnect with prior characters and watch them grow. I honestly can't wait to see if the Braden kids get books in the future.

Another aspect of Melissa's characters that I love is their nature. They are all wholesome people with a bit of a sexy side. To be blunt, her heroes are hot and her heroine's are just as sizzling. They are also hardworking people with hearts of gold. They have goals and work endlessly for them. They are fiercely protective, but would never think to harm someone unless a loved one is in danger. Nick and Trixie are both perfect examples of this. Both from large families, much like most of Melissa's characters, they know that they have to work hard and will always have their family's back. In Hot for Love, for example, Nick steps up and offers to help Trixie build her goal of starting a pony horse support business. When her brothers lovingly tease her, Nick backs her up. They ground in each other in a way that nobody has before. Of course, being so close does eventually lead to their chemistry and sexual tension igniting. And oh boy, does it ever!

If you like books with characters that are from big, supportive families, then you really should pick up one of Melissa's books. The best thing about her books is that you can start anywhere. While there is a connection between each book and their characters, each book is a romance that can be read by itself. As a reader, you won't get lost. Melissa does a great job giving new readers the right amount of information to get them caught up while reconnecting continued readers to characters they've met before. So don't be scared that this is the 7th book in the series. Think of it as the start of a new reader/author relationship in the making. Read one of Melissa's books and I guarantee you'll be hooked.
