From New York Times bestselling author Melissa Foster comes The Whiskeys: Dark Knights at Redemption Ranch, a small-town, big-family series of standalone romance novels featuring fiercely loyal, insanely sexy bikers who give horses—and people—a second chance. Buckle up for a wild ride in Hope Valley, Colorado, as these big-hearted badasses and their sassy sisters wrangle in their forever loves. No cliffhangers, no cheating, and always a happily ever after.

Callahan “Cowboy” Whiskey is a natural-born protector, a Dark Knights biker, and a hell of a rancher. What happens when he falls for a woman who has no idea who she really is?

When Sullivan Tate escaped from a cult, leaving behind the only life she’d ever known, she thought she’d already endured the most difficult things she’d ever have to deal with. She knew she needed to figure out who she was, but she hadn’t expected to fall for overprotective and sexy-as-hell Callahan “Cowboy” Whiskey along the way. How can she give her heart to a man who has always known exactly who he is, when she’s only just begun figuring that out about herself?

Welcome back to Redemption Ranch! When I say I've lost count of how many of Melissa's books I've read over the years, I am not exaggerating. I think I can count on one hand how many I missed. Maybe 2 hands, but definitely not more. And I think there is only so many ways I can gush about her romances. I love them to pieces and I will never get enough of her fantastic characters. This is why I like to pick an element of her current book that stood out to me. It should be fairly obvious which element I want to talk about with For the Love of Whiskey. And that is how emotionally raw it was. A lot of Melissa's books have an emotional element. We've seen characters lose a sibling right in front of them. Characters who have done jail time to protect their family. All of which are gut-wrenching in their own right, but with For the Love of Whiskey and the horrors that Sully saw... Good lord, that poor woman. The scene where she describes everything that was done to her and things she had to do, I felt for her. I could not stop cheering her on as she found her voice again throughout the book. Same for Cowboy. Sully and Cowboy studied each other. They brought the best out in each other. And yes, her growth and healing was a bit fast, I think that worked perfectly for their romance. As a reader, I know they have a lot more trauma to overcome and just because their story is over, that doesn't mean they stop healing. I feel like they will continue to grow stronger as the series progresses. It was an amazing emotional romance.
