Real bad boys can grow up to be real good men.

Hit hard by the death of her parents, Paige Ryan needs to figure out what to do with her life. She moves to Whispering Springs, Texas, to be near her step-brother. But just as she starts to get her life on track, the last man she ever wanted to see again sends it right back off the rails.

Cash Montgomery was on the cusp of having it all. Three bull riding titles, fame, fortune and respect from his family. Until a bad bull leaves him injured, angry and searching for comfort at the bottom of a bottle. With nowhere to go, he moves into his sister-in-law’s old ranch house in Whispering Springs—which he’s surprised to find already occupied.

As Cash rebuilds the dilapidated home and Paige starts out on her medical career, their old friendship begins to reemerge and sparks are ignited. Paige knows that Cash is nothing but a heartache waiting to happen. But maybe this bad boy has grown up to be a real good man?

Warning: Watch out for falling lumber, falling in holes, and falling for the wrong guy…again. You can leave your hard hat on.

I was so excited to start Texas Twist that I pretty much read it straight through. I had just finished one of Cynthia's novellas in a box set and I was itching to pick up this book right away. Why I keep starting new books right before bed is beyond me... I love how romantic and sweet Cynthia's books are. I know that I will always meet two characters that are so in love with each other, but they are also so clueless when it comes to making a move. I adored Paige and Cash. Both are strong characters that are facing big changes in their lives. Paige is trying to move on with her life after the death of her parents and Cash is reeling out of control after a horrific accident forced him away from his love of bull riding. They find themselves thrown into each other's lives and it forces them to come to terms with their relationship. I loved watching Cash and Paige dance around their attraction. Although it took awhile for them to finally give in to temptation, once they do, it is obvious to everyone that this is it for them. I love that it took a natural disaster (one that is cleverly foreshadowed earlier in the book) for both Paige and Cash to realize they are so in love with each other, their hearts belong together.

I loved Texas Twist, but there were two parts of the book that I wished were a little different. The first was the amount of time that passed between Paige and Cash sleeping together and the end of the book. I loved the steady pace that the book started with. There was no rush to get Paige and Cash into bed. They were able to work on their friendship first before jumping each other. That changed once they have sex. Time suddenly passed so quickly that it felt like with one turn of a page, it would be a couple months later. I would have loved to see more of them as a couple, but with the jumps in time, we don't really get to see how their relationship developed after they have sex. I wanted to see how they got a long out of bed. Maybe with a snip-it of Paige helping Cash paint the house that, but knowing them, it would probably have turned into a paint fight. The second thing I wish had happened was Cash explaining to Paige why he broke her heart when she was 18. There was a beautiful reason behind his actions and I thought it would have brought them closer together. These are just two minor details in a wonderfully romantic book that I would have loved to see. Other than that, I loved Texas Twist and I've added the previous three books to my TBR. I can't wait to see how the other Montgomery siblings fell in love.
