A Look Inside the Search & Rescue Series by Katie Ruggle

Hello there and welcome to what I think will be a new feature on my blog. I don't know if this happens to you, but if I come across a "new-to-me" series and it is either finished or the last book is about to be released, I can get a little lost on which book is the 1st book, which is the 2nd book, so on and so forth. This is why I tend to buy the middle book without realizing it. That's what this feature will be, a look inside different series that have either just finished or the last book is about to be released. I won't always have giveaways associated with these posts, but since this idea came from an email sent by a publicist at Sourcebooks Casablanca, they have graciously provided a fantastic bundle of books for one of you!

Without further ado, welcome to...

A Look Inside the Search & Rescue Series by Katie Ruggle.

Debut author Katie Ruggle's Rocky Mountain Search & Rescue series revolves around a group of search and rescuers from Colorado. Although I've only read the prequel novella and the first 2 full length books, this series is easily one of my all-time favorites. I love that the author doesn't use the typical forms of rescue. In fact, Katie introduced a type of rescue that I've never seen used in a romance book before - ice rescue! No pun intended, but how cool is that? Another aspect of the series that I'm thoroughly enjoying so far is that there is one large plot that connects all of the books together. Each individual book has its own arc and HEA, but there is one story line that you have to start from the beginning and finish the series to get the conclusion. To me, that gives the series so much more depth and I'm more connected with the characters because I want to see them all work through the evidence to right the wrong. That's one of the reasons why I love romantic suspense as it is seen more often in this genre. If you're a fan of romantic suspense or want to try one out, I hope you'll give this series a try.

Plus can we take a moment to admire these gorgeous covers? Wow!

Although I've yet to review Fan the Flames, this book is my favorite in the series thus far. I loved that the heroine has social anxiety, but that doesn't stop her from being a total bad-ass. And I just loved all of the aspects to Ian's character. I'll be reviewing this one shortly so I can finally dive into the final 2 books in the series.

When she’s not writing, Katie Ruggle rides horses, shoots guns, and travels to warm places where she can scuba dive. A graduate of the police academy, Katie received her ice-rescue certification and can attest that the reservoirs in the Colorado mountains really are that cold. While she still misses her off-grid, solar- and wind-powered house in the Rocky Mountains, she now lives in Rochester, Minnesota, near her family.
