Crystal Memes: Off the book topic - What is your favorite scary movie?

Hello friends! Welcome back to Crystal Memes. Well, this one is part meme, part update. It's not a secret that I love horror movies since I've been watching them pretty exclusively since July. On one hand, I found a lot of little known flicks that I actually liked. But on the other hand, I burnt myself out and I'm now pretty much all horror'd out. Which is sad considering Halloween is still 10+ days away. Ah well...

With that said, I thought that this meme topic would make a great closure for my horror/scary movie Pass the Popcorn posts, which will now focus more on Christmas/Holiday movies. Hello, Hallmark!

Without further ado, here's this week's topic from Book Blogger Hop...

Off the book topic - What is your favorite scary movie?

This is a difficult question for me to answer. There are so many different scary movies that I love.

If I want a great ghost/paranormal movie, I'll watch The Conjuring, Sinister, Insidious, Paranormal Activity, or Ghost Ship.

If I want a gory/serial killer movie (which is not often), then I'll watch The Purge, Halloween, Scream. I can not and will not watch any of the Saw or Hostel movies. Just no.

My all-time favorite horror movie came as a bit of a surprise. I came across it one night not really expecting much. It was the only movie ever made me so scared, I very nearly had to turn it off. Especially during a particular scene that involves someone banging on a door and knowing the fact that my bedroom door tends to settle (where it makes a fairly loud sound)... I almost screamed.

The movie is Vacancy with Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale. It's not the best movie ever made, but it's one of the only movies that honestly scared the pants off me. I wish I could bottle up my initial reaction to the movie because it would be hilarious to look back on.

So that's it... My last horror flick post for now... I may tack on a couple Christmas themed scary movies just for the heck of it. We'll see how that unfolds. Thank you so much for playing along with me. I know it is not everyone's cup of tea. I am so excited to switching it up and attack Christmas movies full force. Hooray for Hallmark!
