Bad Blogging Habits I'm Trying to Break

Hello friends! I don't know about you, but I have some bad blogging habits. In fact, one of my goals for 2018 was to work on said bad habits. So I thought it would be fun to chat about some of the habits I'm trying to break. There are some that I'm doing really well on. Others... Not so much.

Big thanks to Lampshade Reader. This blog post was inspired by her 5 Signs That You’re a Procrastiblogger blog post. Go check her out website!

Blog Maintenance - Oh, dear. I'm starting off with the habit that would drive me to drink. It's simple blog maintenance! I don't know why I can never get off my duff to actually do it. I'm talking about updating my review archive on a regular basis, backing up my blog posts, etc.

Blog Post Procrastination - After attempting a couple Blog Ahead events I realized that I'm not the kind of blogger that can schedule blog posts ahead of time. I'm very much a mood blogger, so I work on blog posts (especially discussion posts) when the mood strikes. I'm okay with working on a blog post the day before it is to be posted. What I hate is when I work on a post the day it's supposed to go up. That's procrastination at it's finest and it is so damn annoying. I've gotten better at scheduling posts a day or two in advance, but lately I've reverted back to posting on the same day and I'm trying to climb out of that hole.

Waiting Too Long To Review The Book - I. Need. To. Stop. This. Ugh! I've gotten a bit better with this one, but it's still a long road to actually get myself to review quicker.

Social Media - I recently had to leave Twitter. My account was hacked and there really was no way to recover from that. So, in a fit of anger, I closed my account. While I'm still learning about it, I have found that I love the creativity of Instagram. Now if I could just post more frequently and work on my pictures, that'd be great. As for Twitter, I hope to one day go back, but being hacked still hurts. I also hope to bring my blog's Facebook back to the land of the living, but that hasn't happened yet.

Updating NetGalley & Edelweiss - This is a no brainer. It has to happen. It will happen. It needs to happen more often.

So, those are some of the bad habits I'm trying to break. I'm sure there are more, but baby steps. Maybe I'll do a part 2 next month. Or maybe an update later in the year. I will for sure do a 2018 goal update and hopefully I'll have good news to report. We'll see.

Do you have any bad habits you're trying to break?
