All jokes aside, readers finally get the long awaited romance between Trace and Brindle, two characters with more explosive chemistry in their pinkie fingers than is probably safe. A bombshell was dropped the last time we see Brindle. She's finally home from France and she's pregnant. Talk about getting those small-town rumor mills going!
As with all of the Foster books I've read, I enjoyed the time I spent with Trindle. Her characters always welcome back readers with open arms. The men are there for your swooning pleasure. The women are there to be your best friend while lending multiple ears for when you need to vent. And boy does Brindle need her friends during this rocky time in her life. That leads me to the next element I love about Melissa's books - the growth her characters go through with the help of friends and family. Brindle's progression in Wild, Crazy Hearts was fantastic. She goes from being scared at the beginning of the book to slightly less scared, but more open and willing to work hard for her future with Trace. She had to grow up and she knew that. It wasn't an easy road and with the help of her loved ones it'll be a lot less bumpy from here on out. And I very much appreciate that. All in all, Wild, Crazy Hearts was a delightful book full of love and hope. Yet another Foster winner.
