Her new friend’s brother is totally off limits.

Rachel flees an abusive relationship and takes shelter in rural Louisiana before the Christmas holidays. Grateful for a new friend and a place to hide out, Rachel runs her media empire from the swamplands and tries to keep her hands off her friend’s older brother.

On Christmas Eve, bonfires light up the levee, but when the embers cool, Rachel must choose whether or not to return home.

I just recently discovered Amy Craig and I can't seem to get enough of her writing. Sparks Along the River popped up on my radar and it was all systems go from the very beginning. It is a slow burn romance with a hint of suspense surrounding Rachel's abusive ex. Rachel's new found friendship with Grace was so much fun to watch. Rachel needs to stay in hiding until her restraining order goes into effect so she's on her toes watching her back for the majority of the book. Grace, on the other hand, is high on life. She's funny and wild. She packs a punch and I'd like to think that people in her life don't quite know what to do with her. In her current predicament, Rachel and Grace couldn't be more opposite and I loved that about them. Now Rachel and Andreas is a completely different story. They were like a moths to a flame. From the moment they meet, you could feel the chemistry radiate off them. I flipping loved Sparks Along the River. Everything from Amy's writing to her characters to the mysterious setting of Louisiana, it was a win on all levels.

Amy Craig lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana USA with her family and a small menagerie of pets. She writes women's fiction and contemporary romances with intelligent and empathetic heroines. She can't always vouch for the men. She has worked as an engineer, project manager, and incompetent waitress. In her spare time, she plays tennis and expands her husband’s honey-do list.
