Angel in his arms . . . Devil at her heels

One last, no-strings night of indulgence. That's all Tristan wants before he begins a much-needed new chapter in his life. Instead he finds an innocent angel in pink who brings him to his knees.

Isabella is done hiding from the world . . . and her haunting memories. Discovering courage in the arms of a perfect stranger, she finally lets go and sheds her inhibitions.

To Isabella's shock, she soon learns that Tristan is more than her mystery man—he's her professor. But Tristan isn't the only person who's found Isabella on campus. A dark figure from her past has come back for her. Now Tristan will risk anything to protect Isabella . . . even if it costs him his life.

A little moment of celebration before I jump into my review. This post marks my 500th review!

Shelly Bell does erotic romantic suspense like no other author I've read. When I pick up one of her books I know that the sex is going to be off-the-charts hot and the suspense is going to keep me on the edge of my seat. I loved her Benediction series and I am over the moon excited about her new Forbidden Lovers. May it be a long one! Heh, that's what she said.

When I first heard about At His Mercy I may or may not have cursed like a sailor. In excitement, of course! I didn't just jump at the chance to read it, I friggin' leap frog'd. I would have jumped through a hoop to get my hands on this book. Hooked from the moment I read "18 months ago..." and not once did the book release its hold on me. I loved Tristan and Isabella. Burned in the past, Tristan didn't want a committed submissive until Angel saunters into his life. Scared from a past love, Isabella only wanted to feel free. Free from her past. Free to enjoy the lifestyle she wants. In order to obtain that freedom, Isabella relinquishes control to Tristan and simply enjoy pleasure. What started out as one night of pure unadulterated pleasure turns into so much more when their paths cross once again. Unable to resist temptation, Tristan and Isabella throw caution to the wind and allow their desire and hearts to take over.

I loved At His Mercy. It's not simply romantic suspense. The eroticism and the romance woven together is amazing. The sex scenes are fantastically written. It's sexy as sin, but never over-the-top. That studying scene... Holy cow, I would have gotten all A's if Tristan was there to "tutor" me. The suspense kept me on my toes. That plot twist... Hello! If it weren't for a summer induced reading slump, I would have devoured this book in record time. The wait for Ryder's book is going to suck, but I'll be counting down the days until it comes out.

At His Mercy first appeared as a release blast. If you'd like to visit that blog post and read the excerpt, please click on the link below.

A sucker for a happy ending, Shelly Bell writes sensual romantic thrillers. When she's not working her day job, taking care of her family, or writing, you'll find her reading the latest romance.

  2. I am not into erotic novel but this seems like a good one as it does not sound like a usual, stupid romantic love story. Just by the way congratulations on your 500th review, it is time to celebrate =)
