Crystal Memes: Dusting off some old reviews... (Book Blogger Hop)

Welcome back to Crystal Memes. I am a bit late with this topic as it originally hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer last week. Since it is a great topic to chat about as my blog turns 5 in just a few weeks, I thought better late than never. Right?

Do you ever go "way back" to when you first started blogging and look at your old review posts? Do you see any differences from then to now?

Short answer: Yes.
Long(er) answer: Yes, but it is really embarrassing.

I'm sure everyone else has the same reaction to their first reviews. Starting out, nobody knows what the heck they're doing. We haven't found out niche or a blogging style that we like. Like a kid on the first day of a new school, it takes some getting used to. But once you've got it, work it!

What the heck... Let's visit some of my first reviews.

Fragile & Broken by Shiloh Walker - Why did I start my first review with multiple books? Five years later and I still struggle with reviewing multiple books in one post, which is why I rarely do it unless it is an anthology that shares one cover. This is something I need to work on.

Hooked on You by Lindsey Brookes - I got addicted to free books on Amazon and I found lots of gems. Some duds, too. I wish I had reviewed more of them, though.

Pleasure Island by Francene Carroll - I also loved getting review books from the Goodreads group Making Connections. Great group!

Bared to You by Sylvia Day - Look! One of the first posts with the format I'm currently using. I also really need to finish the Crossfire series. Stat!

Those are four reviews are some of the very first reviews I had on my blog. Five years later, I still stumble a bit. I'm still learning a lot of new things. And I'm looking forward to what the future has in store for my blog.

Do you blog? Share one of your first reviews below and tell me about it.
Let's chat!
